With Product Mockups your design is printed onto the product in the scene. With Blank Mockups the product stays clean — your design (if you upload one) only inspires the scene's colors and mood, never the product surface.

Do I need an inspiration image?

No. The inspiration image is optional — skip it and the AI will generate a scene based purely on your theme, angle, and environment choices. When you do upload one, it guides the scene mood without being applied to the product.
